Ivor Ellul, chief executive officer and founder of oil and gas consulting firm Knowledge Reservoir, is a petroleum engineering professional with more than 35 years of experience. In addition to his professional work in the oil and gas industry, Ivor Ellul also serves as chairman of the board for the not-for-profit organization Pipeline Simulation Interest Group (PSIG).
Each year, PSIG holds a conference in the month of May in order to bring scientists, engineers, and other oil and gas industry professionals together to network and hold discussions about advances in subjects related to fluid pipeline systems. The location of the conference changes each year, with the 2015 conference taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 2016 venue for the PSIG conference will be Vancouver, British Columbia.
In addition to the presentations and luncheons held during the multi-day event, the PSIG also awards the Orin Flanigan and Don Schroeder scholarships, two $5,000 scholarships to doctoral or master’s degree candidates who focus on research related to innovation within pipeline simulation. The most recent recipients of these scholarships were Francesco Galleni and Sara Baltazar in 2015.
